Soundset 2015

Rain or shine and 30K strong, Soundset 2015 went on in the all-day rain. North Star Aerial was happy to be a part of it. The weather proved to be a challenge. We kept our gear in check and our eyes on the radar.

Now Playing: deM atlaS - All We Got: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2aKRnVViJA On Sunday, May 24, 2015, the eighth annual Soundset took place at Canterbury Festival Field in Shakopee, MN. With a SOLD OUT audience and over ten hours of performances, we present to you a brief look into this year's Soundset experience.

The rain did not dampen the sprits of the energetic crowd. The music line up was amazing with some serious heavy hitters in the hip hop world. Local icons included Brother AliDessa,  Atmosphere and many more. I must say I was taken back when south centrals hip hop legend Ice Cube hit the stage!

A big shout out to, Rhymesayers ENT., the great crew at 1light Films , Andrew Melby and Stevie Kane

SOUNDSET 2014

In May we shot Soundset 2014, the biggest (& best) indie rap music festival the Midwest has ever hosted. The festival's 7th year drew huge crowds, and what better way to cover the multi-stage events and big ticket names than with Aerial cinematography? (skip to the highlight reel after the jump!)

In the truck the energy was as high as the crowd's, and over a dozen crew members crammed themselves - and their gear - in one production trailer!  Quick turn was the name of the game.
